Our Story
AtaMai Pepe began as a passion project creating custom clothing prints for my pepe to celebrate her cultural identity. While raising her to be trilingual (gagana Sāmoa, reo Māori, and English), I resumed my own cultural identity journey and started creating books and journals. I was born in Sāmoa and live in Aotearoa so keeping our culture alive within our āiga is something that's important to me.
The beautiful artwork featured in both our journal covers and on our clothing is designed by Rose Letalu who is Sāmoan and Cook Island Māori.
Our creations celebrate Sāmoan culture and the stories that shape us, and through them we hope to inspire connection, pride and identity.
